Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is a cosmetic procedure that lifts the stains on your teeth, returning them to their natural colour. Stains caused by smoking, coffee/tea, alcohol, red wine, ageing etc. are stains that can be easily lifted, making your teeth instantly whiter in just 1 visit! You can achieve 4-10 shades whiter teeth in just 60 minutes. Our teeth whitening is dental grade & quality, gentle, effective and absolutely safe.
A top up session is highly recommended for individuals that have stained teeth. This session can be carried out 3-5 weeks after the initial treatment to achieve the best results possible. Results should last up to 12 months (results vary due to diet & lifestyle)
When you book in to your Teeth Whitening appointment, up to 3x20min sessions (or if you booked 1 to 2 sessions) are all done when you are at The Gloss Studio
Who CAN'T have this treatment?
- You must be 16 years or older to receive this treatment
- Pregnant, lactating or breast feeding women
- Anyone with highly sensitive teeth
- Anyone with any sort of gum/tooth disease or infection
What do I do before my treatment?
- You must have had a deep clean by your dentist in the last 10 months
- Brush your teeth right before your appointment & bring your tooth brush
Is there any risks involved in this treatment?
Some individuals may experience tooth sensitivity or discomfort but this is unlikely. If there is any discomfort or sensitivity, the procedure will be stopped immediately. Every individual's teeth are different. If gel gets in contact with you gums, this may cause irritation and may cause the gums to go a white colour. This only lasts a few minutes up to a couple of days.
AFTERCARE
“THE WHITE DIET”
After a teeth whitening treatment, the pores of your enamel are open and this makes them extra vulnerable to any stains which can reverse a lot of the whitening benefit from your treatment. Follow the White Diet for 24-48 hours after a teeth whitening treatment. Once the pores close, which usually happens within 24-48 hours after the procedure, you can resume your normal habits. An easy rule to remember is anything that would stain white fabric; Avoid it! Remember the more staining in your diet, the faster you will re-stain your teeth. Taking care with what you eat will keep your smile whiter for longer!
NON-STAINING BEVERAGES:
- Water
- Sparkling Water
- Milk
BEVERAGES to AVOID:
- Lemon Squash, Orange Juice, Any Acidic Fruit Juice
- Tea & Coffee
- Colas & Other Fizzy Drinks
- Energy Drinks
If you need to drink coffee/tea, do this through a straw so there is less contact with your teeth
NON-STAINING ALCOHOLIC DRINKS:
- Vodka
- Gin
- White Wine
- Champagne
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS TO AVOID:
- Red Wine
- Stout or Dark Beer
- Coloured mixed drinks
- Coloured Cocktails
- Dark Spirits
FOOD YOU CAN HAVE:
- Chicken
- Turkey
- White Fish
- White Rice
- White Pasta
- White Sauce
- Cauliflower
- Cottage Cheese
- Potatoes
- Bananas
FOODS TO AVOID:
- Coloured fruit and vegetables i.e. capsicum, Carrots, Berries
- Broccoli, Spinach and Green Vegetables
- Dark and milk chocolate
- Rye and dark Bread
- Tomatoes and Red Sauces such as Spaghetti Sauce
- Curries
- Beetroot
- Berries
- Coloured lollies
